I'm dreaming of a white Christmas....in Texas?!

Hey everyone! I feel like it's been forever since I wrote anything. After I finished my exam and headed on home, it had felt like 2 weeks had passed. And now I've been here for a week already! Crazy. I went to Dallas for a 2 days to meet up with Monica (an old high school buddy who just got engaged!! Congrats, again, Noto! I have to use your last name as much as I can before you get married!). I also got to spend some quality time with my niece, Madyson, and her momma and dada;>) She is so freakin cute...smiling so much more than even three months ago. I will have to get some pics of her up.

Then I headed on up to the big town of Wichita Falls to see my brother-in-law walk the stage for his college graduation. Being at MSU always brings back so many memories...all the soccer and studying I went through for 4 years there! There was one time where Kim and I woke up one morning and decided to take my car to go get washed, but we refused to change out of our pyjamas. But while it was being washed, I started to get this craving for fudge. Not just any fudge...Fudge Factory fudge, which was in the other big town of Sherman....2 hours away! So we drove directly from the car wash to Sherman, in our pj's, only to get there and find that they had no more fudge!!! We actually waited another 2 or 3 hours for them to make it before we finally left around 5 pm. So, what started out to be a simple car wash turned into a day long quest to find and eat fudge! Crazy times, huh?

I've also spent a lot of time with my newest niece, Lucy, and my sister. We made cookies ALL DAY yesterday, and had soooo much fun doing it! Just so everyone knows, and to make my sister smile while reading this, my favorites were the Christmas tree cookies:>) So MUCH fun to make! I think I have gained at least 3 lbs (1.5 kilos) in the last week!

I'll be heading on down to Houston this Friday to see my brother in prison. I haven't seen him in 4 years! It will be an extremely long trip (6 hrs. there, 6 hrs. back), but it's worth it to see him around Christmas time. I would think that visits from family and/or friends around this time of the year would help the people stuck in there, even if it's only a little bit.

I'll Be Home for Christmas

It's hard to believe, but it's true...I survived my exam. Of course, they will torture me for another month seeing as they will send me my results by snail mail in January. But no matter! In just a few hours I will be on a long flight home to spend three weeks with my family and friends, which I'm really looking forward to:>) Nothing too exciting happened last week. I got sick, and I now have NO voice! I'm sure that, for some of you, that's a blessing from above. But, for me, it's frustrating! I couldn't go out with my school buddies on Friday night to celebrate the end of my studies, and I couldn't go out to another 'school buddy' party last night. I did, however, stay at home and celebrate my roomie's birthday. I talked for a little while, but then just ended up sitting there listening to everyone else's conversation and not being able to contribute. At least there was good food, good music, and a great ambience:>) But having no voice sucks!
Still have NO idea of what I'm going to do when I get back...I will, of course, be job-hunting 100% of the time. But it will be strange to not be working or studying...I don't handle that very well. I have to be doing something constructive with my life, otherwise I feel useless! Oh well, I will worry about all of that when I get back:>) So, I'm going to leave you all here. I should be in Texas 'round 3 pm tomorrow! I'm sure I will keep this blog alive during the three weeks I'm at home, so I'll be talking to you all soon;>) Take care!

So I received my final grade for my last course, which was an EMBA (Executive MBA) class in Marketing Research and Forecasting. As I am now, officially, finished with school (well, kind of...still got that pesky exam in a week!), I now know how to use big business words and phrases. So.....I got an 'A', nana nana boo boo....you didn't, hahahaha....stick your head in poo poo....la la la la! Woo hoo!!! An 'A' on my mid-term and an 'A' on my final presentation!!! I will graduate Summa Cum Laude in April, when I walk:>) Let's all just pray that there's at least one other person who has a higher GPA than me, so I don't have to give any stupid speech.

Other than that, I had a pretty fun week. Instead of studying for this huge, ginormous exam I have in a week (did I already mention that it's next week?!), I hung out with friends, and visited families I used to work for. Did some babysitting. Worked on my C.V. Applied to a couple of jobs. You know, all the really important stuff. Actually, applying for jobs is kind of necessary at this point;>) Speaking of jobs...or old ones, at least....the stupid retards still haven't even called me to explain their reaction, or to say anything to me, for that matter! It's as if I didn't even exist. That's really nice considering I practically raised their child while they were being 'tards for the past 10 months. By the way, 'tards can be a shortened version of either retards or, in this case specifically, bastards. I think we can actually use both for the fat cow and her brainless husband (there are a lot of other 'less' words I could've used there, but I'm going to wrap up this bitter paragraph!)

Moving on...actually, I don't know if there's anything to 'move on' to! Tomorrow I'm going to really start studying. Yeah, tomorrow. After I clean my room and finish my laundry. Definitely tomorrow!

Going cuckoo in Switzerland!



Well, it's been an interesting week as you might probably tell from what you see above. Those who are reading this have actually been invited to read my blog...and for a good reason. I realized that I gave my blog address to a couple of people who I do not want reading it. The only way to block them is by blocking everyone and choosing the people I do want to read it. So consider yourselves privileged;>)

Where do I even begin? Oh yeah. My bosses are psycho. Actually, my ex-bosses as of Friday. I will not rant and rave like I have been for the past 2 days to my family and friends here, but I will tell you that I should have left in August after they went cuckoo on me the first time. And the freakin mother actually fabricated a lie that is so monstrous and ugly that I will never contact them again. For those of you who have seen me, you know how I am around kids. Even if there is tension between me and the parents, I have never reacted negatively towards the children. Well, the fat cow said that I reacted 'violently' toward her daughter twice last week (as well as some other 'nice' comments), which is so ridiculous that I will not even dignify it with a response. She can say whatever she wants now, and come crying to me later (like she did LAST time), but it's over. Which is sad, because I genuinely love that little girl. And my colleagues (actually, they are more my friends than colleagues considering the fact that I never really worked in the office...uh-hem, ANOTHER promise that turned into a lie), can testify to the fact that Lou was actually happier and more relaxed with me than she was with her mom. Which could be the reasoning behind her comments....doesn't matter. What she has said, and I'm sure it will continue for awhile, is unacceptable.

So, I am no longer employed as a nanny and I'm officially looking for a real, grown-up job! I am almost officially a Grad school graduate, too! Just my final, comprehensive exam in 2 weeks and that's it. It's such a great feeling to accomplish something like that!

Well, what else? I feel like so much has happened....actually, I have some really cool and awesome news. I found my best friend from middle school, Melisa, on Classmates.com and we've been writing back and forth for the last week! And she might come down to Texas to visit me while I'm home!! How exciting is that?! There are a few people that I lost touch with and would love to know how they're doing and where they are....so that's why I'm practically floating on air since I found Melisa. I really didn't think it would work, or that she would write back, but I'm so glad it did:>) It will be very cool to see and talk to her after 14 years...half my life!

Ok, and for the final piece of news...I made my first Thanksgiving dinner!!!!!! I bought a ridiculously overpriced 13 lb turkey (do not even ask how much I paid...I had to take out a small loan from the bank!) because they don't usually sell them here and everyone told me to go to Boucherie du Molard - for those of you here who know where I'm talking about. Basically, it's the creme de la creme of butcher shops. So I bought Tom the Turkey and went to my friend's house (Agathe, who also worked in Psychoville with the Psychos) to make the dinner. I was so happy when everything was served and everyone enjoyed their meals. It made me happy to know that nothing burned! I said a prayer before the meal, and then Agathe had a great idea to go around the table and say what we were thankful for. It got a bit emotional at times, and it was an excellent addition to the meal. There were 7 of us total...me, Agathe, my roommate Sylvia, Flavia (current resident in Psychoville....Courage, Flavia!), Sandra and her husband, Alain (and, of course, little Matteo -with an accent on the e - who should be arriving within the next week), and Vanessa, a friend of Agathe's. We had a lot of laughs and a ton of food....a great combination:>)

Well, that pretty much sums up my week! I hope yours was as eventful as mine was, or if not, that you got a lot of rest! I apologize for the inconvenience of getting a google account in order to read the blog, but it really does take 1 minute and I would love to keep this thing going! I just want to make sure that certain people don't read it (i.e. Psychos and Crazies).

Well, I better go ahead and do an update now before I get stuck in 'study' mode for the next three weeks!
I took some great photos of Loulou 2 weeks ago...I love the Autumn, with all the leaves and chimney smells! So, I'm going to post some of my favs for you all...
What's new over here? Well, I will give my final presentation for my Marketing class this Saturday....which means that I will be done with all my courses!!!! It's amazing that it's been over 2 years since I started this program. I am just happy and grateful that I made it through in one piece:>) I will just have my Comprehensive exam on December 8th, and then 'basta'! Finito! I don't think I will go back to school for a really long time....or never. Whichever!
I finally changed my plane ticket, which made my 'faja' happy;>), as well as everyone else. So I'll be in Tejas from December 11th to the 30th. For those Texans who are reading this (Monica, Heather P., Heather A., Ang...etc.), if you want to meet up to do something, let me know and I can make a trip up to Dallas. Kim said we could go up the 15th and 16th, to give you an idea. Let me know....I would love to see you all!!!
I'm so jealous of all of you who will have nice Thanksgiving turkeys next week:>( Out of all the holidays that I'm not in the States for, Thanksgiving is the one that I miss the most. Christmas is still my favorite, but I'm usually there for that...fortunately! No one really gets into Christmas over here....it's very depressing, actually. So, I hope that you all have safe trips home, if you're not staying put....and I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving! Eat extra turkey, mashed potatoes, and pie for me;>) Then let it all hang out in front of the t.v. while you watch the games:>)

Just one more thing...some friends and I came up with a funny idea for a website, and decided it should be called 'Geneva Weirdos'. My friend, Rick, who is the master of all things I.T., created it and it's up and running now. My username is Freako, if you want to check it out. We explain why we came up with this really random idea on the site, so I just have to leave you in suspense so that you go take a look! The link to the site is just to your right on the sidebar:>)

So, we're already at the end of October!! Time flies, doesn't it? Seems like I just got back from Texas....and I'll be leaving again to go back in just 6 weeks:>) There have been some major decisions made since I got back. The biggest one is that I am leaving my job as Lou's nanny at the end of November in order to spend 100% of my time looking for a professional job. I know it will be difficult, but I am optimistic!

The second one is that I decided what area I want to focus on...Market research. I know, sounds boring, right? I mean, anything with the word 'research' in it has to be! But I really enjoy finding out why people, as customers, buy the things they buy. There's a lot more to it, but I'll spare you from the details;>) But I'm also looking in the area of Communications so that I have more of a chance of finding something. I might have to move back to the US if I can't find anything here, which I'm sure will make my family happy;>)

So, even though it is unusually warm here (summer weather for us!), I still love the autumn. With all of the fun holidays coming up, it makes me a bit homesick....how I WISH we had pumpkin patches here!! I wanted to take Lou to get some pictures with her and the pumpkins...til I realized that I couldn't find even one! I bought her this really cute Halloween pumpkin costume when I was in the States and I can't wait til I see her with it on!! I'll definitely be posting pics as soon as I get them:>)

Thanksgiving is another holiday that I miss terribly:>( The four day weekend, turkey, mashed potatoes, vegging in front of the t.v., getting together with family (or arguing with family...whichever!), the official start of the Christmas shopping season...if it didn't cost so much (and if I didn't have my final presentation due on that Saturday!) I would fly back just for the 4 days. I'm sure I'll be back for a real American Thanksgiving soon enough, but I guess I will have to make do without for the 5th year in a row. I hope to have a post before then, but just in case I don't, I hope you all have a great holiday with your families and friends!

So, only 6 more weeks til I finish my Masters! 4 more classes, the exit exam on Dec. 8th, and then I fly home on the 11th (I think...haven't changed my ticket, yet, dad!). But I should be home for three weeks during the Christmas season. So Monica...this time we are meeting up, ok?! I will need to hear all about your trip to Italy! I'll be in Abilene the whole three weeks but maybe I can borrow a car and go to Dallas for a weekend:>)

Well, I have a lot to do in the next 6 weeks...so I guess I better get my butt moving! I hope everyone is doing well, and I would love to hear from you!!!!

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since my last update, but for good reasons:>) I just returned from Texas last Thursday after a 3 week vacation. There were a lot of exciting things happening: my youngest brother got married and my sister gave birth to a gorgeous girl who was named Lucille Concetta Bonacci. As that's quite a mouthful, I think I'll call her LuLu! But everyone else calls her Lucy...they're both out of the hospital and doing great at home. My sister will be in pain for a few weeks as they had to do an unplanned Cesarean, but she pulled through and is now on my extremely short list of 'Unbelievable Heros'. I really don't think I could've gone through 14 hours of labor, sans medication, then on to a C-section! Someone will just have to hit me extremely hard over the head with a frying pan or something when I am in labor...even shots scare the crap out of me!

My brother's (Tom) wedding was really beautiful. It was on a real Texas farm, but we were inside since it was too hot outside. But with what seemed like 80 people inside, it started to get really warm inside, too. I saw my oldest brother, Mike, whom I haven't seen in about 8 years and his daughter, Brittany, who's almost 4 years old. It was the first time I met her, and she was too cute! Such a sweet little girl...how is she the offspring of my brother?! Just kidding, Mike! You're little, too! ;>)

I got to spend a lot of quality time with my other niece, Madyson, who just turned 1 on Friday the 15th. She is so freakin cute, and cries just like my little brother did when he was her age:>) That's so scary how kids can look exactly like their parents, and also share so many personality traits. I can't wait to have some little people running around who look like me and are ultra cool just like me;>) I'm not sure the world is ready for them, yet! That's ok, though, since I have awhile to unleash them upon you all. Gotta find a guy first....kind of important.

What else happened? Oh yeah! Las Vegas, baby!! Let me say just one thing....Celine rocks! It was probably the best show I've ever seen...really well done. She sang all my favorite songs, and was as dramatic as ever. It was Kim's second time to see it, but Celine had changed things up a bit since Kim had seen it last. There were some new songs and routines, but she kept all the good ones. I have to say that L.V. is an amazing city...it was the first time I've been and I was only there for 14 hours. Next time I will have to stay for at least a couple of days! I did lose $25 on the slots, but oh well. I couldn't leave Vegas without throwing away some of my money! It was bad enough that Kim told everyone that I didn't have one drink while I was there...I had to make up for that somehow! Next time, Kim....next time! L.V. was like the third best city I visited while I was home;>)

Ah yes...the alumni game. Well, I guess I should be extremely grateful for what happened. It rained...a lot! So we drove all the way to Wichita Falls to MSU (where I went to college for those who don't know) in the pouring rain which seemed to be flooding the whole area....only to get there and find out that the game had been cancelled. It was most likely a blessing in disguise since I was sure to die on the field! So, instead, the alumni met the girls who currently play on the MSU team and then the alumni, plus coach Jeff (who hasn't changed a bit;>) ), went out to eat so we could catch up a bit. It was a lot of fun to see the girls that I played with 7 years ago (all 4 of them...I felt so old around all the 'new' alumni!). I'm so glad Cat came down from Colorado! It was awesome to see her and catch up....I'll do my best to get to your wedding next June! It was great to see April and her baby girl...who looks exactly like Daniel! Too cute! All my friends getting married, having kids....I feel so old! I spent an evening with another old teammate from my college days...Angie. Her two kids are so adorable. And Ethan, who's 3, is one of the funniest kids I've been around! He certainly has a lot to say, doesn't he, Ang?! Such a contrast to Addyson, who is super mellow and laidback! All of you girls are so lucky to have such great kids!

Well, if I've forgotten anything (and I'm sure I have! It was a long 3 weeks!) I will add it later. Just remember one thing: 'El diablo is Spanish for...fighting chicken' 'You mean with the claws?' VACATION IN CANNES!

This was a very last minute, unexpected decision, but totally worth it! I've been to Cannes before (in 2000) with my friends while we were backpacking in Europe. We went for a few hours to see the red carpet and all the stars turn out for the Cannes Film Festival....which was super cool. But to stay there for 7 days was more than just 'cool'....it was exactly what I needed.
My friend, Cyril, invited me to go after I had a rough week at work. I only accepted his invitation because I thought I had no job (insert really long story about me being fired/quitting, then being asked to come back and accepting). I think it was the best vacation I've had in years!

First of all, the house we stayed at (Cyril's parents) was amazing! So beautiful, and huge!, and with a brilliant view of the Mediterannean Sea. Great pool and perfect weather....it was pretty much all I needed to forget about all my problems. I even managed to take off my watch and lose track of time completely. There were times where I didn't even know what day it was! I tried to be organized (Me?!Noooo....!) but to no avail. We woke up whenever we wanted, ate breakfast (or lunch:) ), figured out if we would stay poolside or walk to the beach. A couple of times I went into Cannes where all the shops were just to walk around and peruse the merchandise. I managed to find two really cool pairs of sunglasses for $5 each, which made me super happy. However, I also managed to fall in love with a purse that was $500! Maybe for my birthday;>)

The group of 16 year old girls was very interesting to watch. It was Cyril's sister, Nadege, and her friend Joanne, as well as Cyril's cousin, Marion, and her friend Estelle. I forgot what it was to be 16....but I'm pretty sure I wasn't smoking and drinking as much as they were! It's really the age, but still....they got in trouble for that so they kept it to a minimum for the rest of the week. I don't think you could pay me enough to be a teenager again!

It's funny because I was there for a week, but I don't have a whole lot to talk about. It was really the most relaxing time I've spent...ever...and most of what I did was lay out and soak up the sun. I did go, for the first time in my life!, on Cyril's dad's boat and swim in the sea. I'm terrified of the 'middle' of the ocean, where I can't see what's underneath me. But I sucked up my fear and rode the buoy (if I spelled that wrong, I don't want flood of emails correcting me!;>)), which was tons of fun. However, I did get a bit seasick:>( But all in all, it was so much fun!

Cyril and Nadege have a baby sister, Enora, who is one year old. She is totally cute and has a lot of energy in her...like most babies! We watched her every once and awhile so the parents could do what they needed or go out on the boat. It made me miss Loulou, and I'm really excited to see her tomorrow on my first day back at work after two weeks. Apparently she has grown, and I'm sure she'll seem so different to me after not being around her for so long. But I'll spend a lot of time away from her this month as her parents will go down to Cannes (Cyril's parents are their friends)for a week, and I leave on the 24th to go to Texas for 16 days.

Speaking of Texas...I can't wait to go home! I get to see my nieces! Madyson will be 1 year old on Sept. 15th, and my new niece, Lucille, will arrive at the end of August. Super exciting! My little brother will get married on the 26th, which I'm also looking forward to. I'm going to Las Vegas for my birthday to see the one and only Celine Dion in concert...Kim bought us tickets, so I'm really looking forward to going there. Never been to LV, but heard it was amazing! The only other big event is my alumni game on the 3rd, which I've already mentionned will be the cause of my death. I haven't done anything sporty in I don't know how long (unless you count hanging out in the pool for the last week 'sporty'), so it should be fun;>)

I really just wanted to say one thing....VIVA ITALIA!!! Zizou, schmizou....I don't care if Materazzi insulted Zidane's mother, sister, dog...whatever. You just don't go and headbutt the crap outta someone when you have 5000 cameras on you and expect to get away with it. What was he thinking?!!! French people are so weird...

Speaking of the French, I work with about 6 of them:>) And I love them all...especially the ones who are reading this blog! So they were really not happy Monday morning when I greeted them with a cheerful 'Buongiorno a tutti!!' They quickly said that PKs are never a good way to determine the better team...blah, blah,blah. And then they defended their beloved Zizou til they were almost blue in the face. You KNOW that they would've rubbed it in my face if France had won!

So, I went to watch the game with some softball buddies. I ended up injuring my hand after Italy scored because I was so excited and kept slamming it on the bar...it was a brilliant goal, was it not? Then, after it was all said and done, we left to catch the bus and encountered a city full of Italy supporters going crazy. It was awesome!!! I even called my brother to make him listen to all the madness...whole families jumped into their tiny cars to drive around town honking their horns and waving their flags out the windows. There were tons of people on their balconies blowing air horns, with their flags draped over the sides. The Portugese were especially happy (I'm assuming because they lost to France, they were supporting Italy)and decided to dance and sing in the streets waving the Portugal flag around! I just kept jumping up and down, with my fists in the air, screaming 'Italia, Italia' everytime a honking car passed my way. It was just too cool!

To live on a continent where soccer, or football I should say, is the sport is just so exciting...especially during the World Cup. Now we have to wait 2 years...The Euro Cup will be coming to Switzerland and Austria in 2008!! Viva le football!

Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted anything, so I thought I would take a few minutes to bring everyone up to speed on my exciting life.

So for the last 4 weeks, it's been World Cup fever over here. And for the most part, I have followed all the games. But this is ridiculous!!! France in the final?!! Is this a joke?! If I have to hear one more time that stupid song at the end of their games, I am seriously going to stick a baguette up someone's French ass. So....Viva Italia!!!!

Loulou has been getting bigger and stronger everyday now. She's the size of 12-15 month old at only 10 months, but is super cute. She has a very strong character and is starting to throw fits, which I will try to put an end to quickly! She is absolutely amazing with a soccer ball! I've been around a million kids, but I've never seen a 10 mo. old practically run after the ball and kick it far each time. She even takes it with the ball of her foot and rolls it around as if she has it completely under control...it really is amazing to watch:>) The future Mia Hamm;>) I will definitely spend time helping her to develop her coordination and skills, cuz she so has the potential to be a good athlete. I know that all kids have that probability, but she is more inclined to be sporty. Definitely the 'tomboy' type!

Well, I have 6 more weeks til I go to Texas! It will be a long 2 weeks since my little bro is getting married and my sister is having her baby. I'm also going to Las Vegas to see Celine Dion in concert and I'm so psyched!! I've never been to LV and I've never seen her in concert so it's the best birthday gift ever....Kim set it up and we'll be going the first week I'm there. I also, (I think!), have an alumni soccer game at MSU but haven't been informed of anything yet so we'll see if it's still on or not. If it is, I better get up and moving cuz I won't last 5 minutes in the Texas heat if I don't get into a little bit of shape! I always forget how hot it is there when I've been in Switzerland for 5 years, where the weather is more like Denver in the summer.

June was a sad month as I had to say "til next time" to some good friends from school. They finished their MBAs and moved back to Brazil and Italy. It's not easy to find good friends, and I definitely had a blast this year with them. So, hopefully, I will get to visit them very soon! The great thing about my university is that there are so many countries represented, but the downside is that when the year is over they have to leave. Oh well, at least I have really good reasons to travel now:>)

Speaking of studies, I am almost done!!!! I have one more class, in the Fall, and then my comprehensive exam in December. Then I walk in April, which I'm really happy about. If I'm able to pull off an 'A' in my last class, I will graduate Summa Cum Laude!!! I am really hoping for that;>) Then I think I am done with school!

Well, I am planning on working out the kinks with this blog site....not really sure how to make it look the way I want it. So I hope to have it look nicer the next time I update it:>) If any of you have suggestions on how to do that, I'm all ears!

So, here is what I do all day...I get to the office at 9 am and wait for Princess Lou (I call her LouLou) to arrive. Then we hang out in her room for a couple of hours til she's good and ready to go outside. Then we spend the next few hours chillin in the sun at the park, or walking around the city, or meeting up with other babies for some social time....It's pretty cool! And I could not have asked for a happier baby than this angel! Always smiling and laughing...It definitely makes me want to get up in the morning and go to work! You'll have to forgive me because I have a feeling that most of what I put in this blog will be about my adventures with LouLou:>) So for those of you without kids, it could get annoying;>)
